Photobooks revisited

I’ve been slowly working on putting together a book and I have been dragging my feet on it in part due to the fact that I’m not sure where to get it printed. I am happy with what Smilebooks offered for the price. I still have their software installed however I’m looking to find something with a higher overall build quality, in particular with a stitched binding rather than just glue. The Smilebooks still looks to be a good option when an affordable and fun book is the goal but if I want to give a family member or friend a higher quality book (or I wanted to sell something to someone) then it’s not quite what I’m looking for.

Looking back at the Black River Imaging book, the binding is better: it is glued and sewn. The rough-around-the-edges looking cover might actually be due to the fact that I probably got a canvas cover without knowing it. I hear this happened to some other people. Not a big deal at all considering the price of the book (free!) but I think it makes the appearance of the cover make more sense now. WHCC offers books that are very similar to Black River Imaging as well so I am also looking at them as a possibility. I’d love to support local business and Booksmart Studio produces some fantastic looking books but I’ve still got to find out more about that option.

As this goes forward I will update with new information.
