Walking downtown with a chance of rain (gallery)

Some local Flickrites were taking Thursday off to enjoy a longer holiday weekend and I met with a couple of them downtown at Dinosaur BBQ. We ended up walking quite a ways, this was the longest city walk yet and I would guess we covered four to five miles by the time we circled back to the starting point. Making light versus creating light

My recent involvement in a number of model & portraiture shoots has served to clarify a long standing complaint of mine. I have been struck by the persistence in over-lighting a shoot and controlling light poorly. Although I have observed this for a long time I believe I am finally beginning to understand what is going on. The challenge in much of what I shoot, as a natural/available light fanatic, is in working within the limitations of the given conditions. [...]

The Colorblind Photographer has turned two!

Thanks to everyone who have supported this effort. It has come a long way since the beginning when there really wasn’t a solid direction or focus for the site.
