Hasselblad has continued what they started with the H3DII-39 by taking their multishot system and applying it to a higher resolution sensor. Technologies like this have always appealed to me so it’s good to see that companies are able to continue to push them along successfully. Pixel shift multishot systems certainly aren’t ideal for many subjects but work very well for high detail recording of static scenes. Seems like there are an awful lot of jiggly sensors out there these days, although the majority of them are meant to compensate for vibrations. It would be interesting to see this make its way in to descendants of the D700 or 5D Mark II although I suspect demand for such a thing is relatively minimal.
