I had previously mentioned that I would be providing more information on a recent experience with Black River Imaging. Unfortunately those books were holiday gifts to family and I wound up not having the time to do the sort of review I wanted before giving them to family members. Once again this is more of a placeholder promising a future detailed review of the process and results.
I will say that they were very fast with my most recent order. I purchased two of the same 30 page 11×8.5 inch books with a black cloth cover. Overall the quality of the finished product was again excellent with nicely detailed prints, a uniform paper surface and generally great fit and finish. The design software still stinks (I am looking in to alternative ways to design and upload the book) but it’s not enough to keep me from using them for future book projects.
I am continuing to work on a book that will be roughly based off this most recent pair and when that’s finished I’ll actually be getting myself a copy and will use that as the basis for a more detailed review of BRI’s book printing service.
