Alex at the incinerator, Anatomy and CC... February was model shooting month it seems

With February now over it’s a good time to make sure I get some of the stuff from Feb that I missed up.  It turned out to be a busy month in many ways, not just with taking photos, so I’ve fallen a bit behind here.  I shot with three new models and have been chased around by other models from shoots-gone-by asking to do more shoots.

Last Saturday I shot with a new-to-me model, Alex, at the Rochester incinerator.  Part of my plans did not include the extra snowfall which made getting to the incinerator all the more tiring.  We didn’t really have too much planned going in to the shoot, but we had some vague notions and concepts we were interested in working on.  Joe Sotelo also came along and helped with the shoot, and did some shooting of his own, which was very nice!  I’m not used to having someone play assistant but it sure is a welcome change when you’ve got the right sort of person to accompany you on a shoot and help out.

One of the concepts we wanted to work on was what we just loosely referred to as the “dead” shots.  The idea of a person found in an abandoned building like this is a creepy thought and we were interested to try creating that setting.  I had hoped she could bring some sort of beat up old shirts and pants to wear but that didn’t work out and we didn’t want to mess up any nice clothes (although that would be cool) so we ended up working with what we had.  She presented some ideas of her own and I worked with her on those and let her choose a location for one shot in particular that I still have to commend her for going through with!  We’re both looking forward to working together again, although we’ll be waiting for some slightly warmer weather.

I worked with a couple other models earlier in the month as well.  One was actually a friend of a friend who wanted to try modeling and another was a popular model in the area who goes by the nickname Anatomy (remarkably it is derived from her real name!).  Anatomy and I shot at the Village Gate and aside from finding out the hard way that one of the stairwells locks you in and you can only get out by exiting to the outside of the building (it was cold), the shoot was a good time.  The friend-of-a-friend, who I shall call CC, has already asked for another shoot which we’ve set up for tomorrow.

To view everything I’ve uploaded from these shoots just follow this link (some are 18+).
