Not the first HDR video demonstration but perhaps one of the first video cameras built solely for the purpose. I’m not sure when my eyes started bleeding but I was definitely grimacing when they flicked the tonemapping switch, some of those settings were just awful. We definitely need overdone horrible HDR in full motion video, that will definitely be an improvement. They really know how to pick exciting demonstration videos too, don’t they? Video capture in HDR surely has its place but the tasteful application will separate appealing from obnoxious. It will be interesting to see if something like this sees wider adoption. As with photography, capturing a good HDR is one thing but the processing after the fact is another. Tonemapping is usually where people take an HDR with potential and turn it in to a giant mess.
